How I Found My Way to This Work

Growing up, I went to a lot of traditional weddings. They were beautiful - full of flowers, good intentions, and picture-perfect moments. But I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing.

I saw couples slipping into roles that didn’t quite fit. Speaking words that didn’t sound like their own. Quietly wondering if they were allowed to do it differently.

As a queer, non-binary person, I knew that ache deep in my bones. The ache of not fitting in. Of longing for something more authentic, more tender, more real.

When my dear friends asked me to officiate their wedding - my first ever - I knew we had a chance to do it differently. They didn’t want tradition for tradition’s sake. They wanted something honest, intimate, and true. That moment cracked something open in me.

Beyond Weddings

At first, I thought my work was just about wedding ceremonies (which I now call Love Celebrations). But I started noticing a pattern: the ache of “not fitting in” wasn’t limited to weddings.

It showed up at birthdays, coming out journeys, personal transformations, and moments of self-love and healing. Over and over, I saw people longing to honor themselves, their loved ones, and milestones (big or small) in ways that felt deeply authentic and true, yet unsure where to begin.

I realized I wasn’t just called to reimagine weddings. I was here to reimagine how we celebrate, grow and express LOVE ITSELF!

Q: How long have you been doing this, and how did you start helping people create Love Celebrations?
A: I’ve been designing joyful and completely authentic Love Celebrations for nearly 20 years. It all started when I realized that traditional templates for weddings, milestones, and life transitions often didn’t fit my couples - especially queer, creative, or beautifully non-traditional folks. I love helping people honor their unique stories and love in ways that feel playful, meaningful, and deeply personal.

Q: Who do you work with exactly?
A: I work with queer, creative, and beautifully non-traditional couples and individuals who are ready to create celebrations or life moments that feel truly theirs. If you want a ceremony or milestone that’s joyful, intentional, and full of love - not filled with “shoulds” and tradition for traditions sake - you’re in the right place.

Q: What if we haven’t planned a celebration before - or if we’re not traditional at all?
A: Perfect! That’s exactly who I love working with. My process is designed to meet you where you are - whether you’re starting with a blank page or just need help shaping your ideas into a ceremony that feels like you. There’s no “experience” requirement, only openness to explore, play, and celebrate your story.

Q: How are you different from other celebrants or officiants?
A: I don’t just plan celebrations - I co-create magical, meaningful experiences. My approach blends coaching, storytelling, and creative ceremony design. I focus on helping you connect deeply with your story, your love, and your people, rather than just executing a checklist or tradition. Every detail is intentional and heart-led.

Q: What kind of couple or personality do you work best with?
A: I work best with people who are open, curious, and ready to lean into authenticity. My dream clients are fun-loving and joyful, but also sentimental and deeply heart-centered. You don’t need to have it all figured out - that’s what I’m here for - but you’ll get the most from our journey if you’re open to reflection and excited to explore what feels most true to you. If you love laughter, storytelling, and celebrating with intention, we’re going to be a beautiful match.

Q: Is there anyone this wouldn’t work for?
A: If you’re looking for a strictly traditional, cookie-cutter event, or you’re not willing to reflect on what truly matters to you, this probably isn’t the right fit. My work thrives on collaboration, heart-centered intention, and creativity.

Q: What exactly do you offer, and how does it work?
A: I currently offer two ways to work together:

• The Love Celebration Journey - If you’re looking for a Love Celebrant who can officiate your ceremony, this journey is a soulful, collaborative process that helps you design and experience a celebration that feels fully and beautifully you.
  

• The Spark Journey - Perfect for couples who already have someone to officiate but want space to reflect on their relationship and support crafting an intentional, meaningful, and personal ceremony experience.

  We’ll begin by exploring your story, your love, and what truly matters to you - then co-create a celebration that feels joyful, authentic, and unforgettable.

Q: How is your work expanding?
A: While Love Celebrations are still at the heart of what I do, my work is growing to include offerings that support growing and expressing love throughout ALL seasons of life. This includes experiences that help people deepen connection, express gratitude, and honor the everyday magic of their love.

Q: Does this really work?
A: Absolutely. I’ve seen so many couples feel lighter, more connected, and completely in love with their celebration - because it’s theirs. Every ceremony or milestone I help design leaves my clients feeling that their story is honored and celebrated in a way they’ll never forget.

A: Both journeys are tiered to meet different needs and levels of support. The investment goes toward creating a celebration that’s fully you - authentic, joyful, and memorable for a lifetime.
